Continuity of Supply
Continuity of supply is recognised by all Parties to the Agreement as crucially important to the effective operation of arrangements for the supply of Medicines to patients in the State. Equally, it is recognised that from time to time interruptions to supply may arise, which are outside the control of the Supplier.
The Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) is responsible for co-ordinating the management of medicine shortages on the Irish market and has published a useful framework for all relevant stakeholders to help prevent and/or reduce the impact of shortages on patients. They also provide the relevant notification forms that must be submitted.
