However, to ensure continued stability and provide a supportive environment for ongoing investment in innovative new vaccines, long-term partnership and collaboration between policy makers, public health authorities and industry is crucial.

Vaccine innovations developed over recent years offer individuals and communities the possibility of protection against an increasing number of diseases. Consequently, the Health Service Executive needs to continue to drive vaccination forward, as immunisation represents one of the most cost-effective health interventions available.
